The novel spotlights the street life and its greatest down fall, being incarcerated. Alamo points this picture through the books main character, Jamal Black AKA Mal, who is now faced with the pitfalls within the prison’s walls. When survival mode and Mal’s number one objective of being liberated clash, it will be him and only him who can put all that is at stake in its proper prospective. Jamal Black’s forbearance will be tested, this will be no easy task.
